About Us

The mission of Phoenix Indian Medical Center Auxiliary, Inc. (PIMCa) is to render service to Phoenix Indian Medical Center’s patients, staff, and visitors, and to assist Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC) in promoting the health and welfare of the American Indian community in accordance with objectives established by PIMC.
Since 1975, PIMCa has contributed over two million dollars in approximate thirds for the following funding areas:
  1. for capital and programmatic funding for PIMC including hospital equipment, community health education outreaches and patient specific needs including some special needs meals and transportation;
  2. for scholarships supporting qualified American Indian undergraduate and graduate students pursing healthcare related careers attending accredited schools of higher education; and
  3. for operating in cooperation with PIMC, the PIMCa Gift Shop, which supports the cultural competence of PIMC as well as supplies a ready source for the personal needs of patients, staff, and visitors.
  4. also as Board Designated Funds, maintains the fiscal assets of the PIMC Volunteer Chaplains’ Association.
Founded in 1968, PIMCa was incorporated as an Arizona nonprofit corporation in 1972. TIN: 82-0332702
PIMCa is a tax-exempt organization under the Internal Revenue Code sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(3)— Type III Functionally Integrated Supporting Organizations in support of a governmental entity.
